Syrian Vice President Abdel Halim Khaddam will travel to Libya and Algeria later today, carrying two messages from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to Presidents Muammar Gaddafi and Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
According to Syria , the political sources of letters concerning consultation on the issues to be discussed by the Arab summit to be held in Beirut in the twenty – seventh of this month. The brief ministers of Gaddafi and Bouteflika on the ongoing results of the contacts between Arab capitals about the summit and the initiative of Saudi Crown Prince , Deputy Chairman of the Board Ministers, Chief of the National Guard, Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, Specialization for Peace in the Middle East.
The sources said that Khaddam’s visit falls within the framework of the intensive preparations that precede the Beirut summit with the aim of providing the conditions for its success and crystallizing a unified Arab position to confront challenges, foremost of which is the Israeli aggression and stopping the massacres against the Palestinian people.
